Green Diamond Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a protected designation of origin - which means that specific quality parameters are identified and quantified to avoid fraud and confirm the product's origin.
The oil product is imported in whole bottles from Kalamata olives with the best oil content in the Messinia region, Greece - the country with world's best quality olive oil. Thanks to the use of cold pressed technology at no more than 27 degrees Celsius, the product retains the most original nutrients of the olives. The smoke level of the oil is about 190 - 207 degrees Celsius (according to Healthline).
Green Diamond Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil does NOT use chemicals from soil to plants - certified as an ORGANIC product by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Greek Agricultural Association and the Canadian Organic Product Regulations.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Thick oil with a mild lemon yellow color.
- The oil has a slightly bitter taste - light and not harsh.
- Low acidity, only 0.19 - 0.2 compared to the world standard of 0.8. The lower the acidity (ie purity and freshness), the higher the quality and more expensive the oil.
- Rich in vitamins A, B, E, Omega 3-9, Collagen and Polyphenol.
- The amount of Oleic Acid (only found in olive oil) of Olympias oil reaches 80% (the highest level).
- Reduces bad cholesterol, increases good cholesterol
- Does not contain trans fat.
