We handcraft our Gewurztraminer in a classic style – textural, aromatic, and spicy with a crisp finish. The grapes are sourced from hand-managed vines located on the contours of the Skillogalee estate, both from in front of our historic cellar door and from the slopes adjoining the Spring Gully conservation park. Our vines are grown using minimal intervention and sustainable farming practices to minimise the impact on our environment.

2021 VINTAGE
With cool and dry weather, the 2021 vintage in the Clare Valley produced lovely fruit with excellent varietal character and natural acidity. The cool growing season was preceded by late-winter and early-spring rains which allowed for good spring growth on the vines. This was followed by below average rainfall and dry conditions for the remainder of the season, resulting in a vintage that produced beautiful and classic Clare wines.
WINEMAKING
Once the fruit has reached optimum ripeness, flavour, and acidity, each block is individually harvested by hand. Each parcel is fermented separately to allow our small winemaking team to use the techniques best suited to highlighting the unique and distinctive characteristics of the different grapes. The individual parcels are tasted and then blended to create a balanced and structured wine ready to be bottled.
TASTING NOTES
The wine is pale straw hue with green tinges. Exotic aromatics of orange blossom and zest with ginger and white pepper spice follow through onto the palate which is slippery and textured all balanced by refreshing, juicy acidity and a lingering, dry finish.
FOOD PAIRING
A fantastic food matching wine, spanning most genres, top of the list should be lightly-spiced, contemporary Asian food, fresh summertime salads and flavoursome white meat dishes.
